Web-based Applications

PbSi has deployed dozens of web apps on behalf of our clients. From modest sortable directories to complex automated credit card processing, PbSi utilizes web-based automation tools to design, develop and implement a variety of integrated communication products using the latest technology. An interactive design, simplified navigation, intuitive graphical user interface, help screens, and secure access by roles are hallmarks of a PbSi developed application. PbSi personnel are creative and constantly strive to stay informed of the newest Internet advances.

HR Applications Support

PbSi has developed, through delivery of high quality information technology services, a familiarity with the requirements for effectively and efficiently integrating information technology with our knowledge of federal training and human resources functions. Using the critical skills mix required to support the complex needs of human capital management, PbSi provides support for existing IT management systems to improve the timeliness and quality of performance measurement, training programs, miscellaneous human resources functions and drafts recommendations for refinement of human capital data bases.

The Primary Organizational Web-based Employee Records (POWER) System is a human resources management tool that combines training and personnel information into one easy-to-access database. POWER is used by HR management staff, line managers, supervisors, and employees to manage, monitor, and administer site-wide, organizational, and individual personnel and training information. With its comprehensive suite of reports, POWER provides a detailed view of personnel and training data, and of administrative performance. Reports can be filtered by demographics, grade, series, department, and more. And it comes with the built-in convenience of export into Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel.

PbSi specializes in embedded workflow processes, object database design, and quality assurance/quality control helping our customers accomplish their development goals. Complex data mining, querying, and security are as important to us as they are to you.

Independent Verification and Validation

PbSi, as an independent third party, reviews and evaluates audit-related products or services to ensure that systems fulfill defined requirements and perform as expected. PbSi verifies that requirements are correctly and completely implemented, specifically addressing quality and reliability. PbSi bases all findings on sound engineering, analysis, and management practices. PbSi assigns staff possessing knowledge of a vast array of IV&V methodologies and technologies, the information technology marketplace, program management, industry best practices, and industry standard quality assurance methodologies; and a thorough, in-depth understanding of and familiarity with Government financial audit standards. Proceeding from audit findings, PbSi identifies and informs clients of any areas of weakness or risk, and recommends solutions for their remediation and/or mitigation. Services include updating documentation, facilitating stakeholder discussions on current procedures, and other remediation or mitigation activities.

Geographical Information Systems

PbSi provides information technology services that include hosting, mapping development, web-based mapping system design modifications, and technical support in maintaining and enhancing emergency management mapping systems and other applications. PbSi provides links, maintenance and enhancement of data layers, user support, training and demonstrations, configuration management and data verification. Through these efforts, PbSi has supported several emergency planning and response organizations who utilize commonly configured managed data sets to meet their individualized needs. PbSi provides a centralized common mapping tool that facilitates the capabilities of various organizations, government layers and early responders to effectively coordinate threat and incident assessment, prevention, management, and recovery. PbSi maintains and updates datasets and metadata, creating metadata for new data layers. PbSi provides the hardware and software required to support the mapping system, maintains websites for development and production purposes and the second one for production. PbSi also provides user technical support and training.
